Moore Jiu Jitsu is more than just your average martial art school. We strive to put quality before quantity. We are not a 10,000 sq ft. facility with our only concern to fill the space. Are goals are to cater to what you want for you and your family! We offer an array of classes suited for you. We have private classes available. You can bring your friends and family or just train one on one.

My name is Phillip Moore. I was born and raised in Point Loma, San Diego. As a child I spent a few years living in Figuera Da fos, Portugal. I graduated Point Loma High School in 1996, lettering in baseball and football under legendary coach Benny Eden. After graduating, I knew I had to channel my energy into something positive. Given that I loved to compete, train and be part of a team, I started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) at the Neto Academy in 1998. In 2003, I started training with one of the world’s leading instructors, Rodrigo Medeiros and his BJJ Revolution Team. Since then I have been competing in all the major tournaments. I even took a trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Wow!

Thanks to my love for BJJ, I opened my own academy in 2007 and in the fall of 2009, I relocated my academy to a much newer, larger facility. When I am not teaching BJJ, I am the head wrestling coach at Point Loma High School and I also give my extra free time to coach the freshman football team.

Accomplishments: Pan American medalist; U.S. Open medalist; U.S. National medalist.

Goals: Pass on the Jiu-jitsu that I have learned and to teach people how to be humble and also dangerous.
